The Glazy Goose is the result of a lifelong dream to produce beautiful, durable, and timeless forms that help people savor the moment.

Our goal is to produce simple items that are easy to own and love. Our pots are wheel-thrown or hand built, and finished with glazes made in-house with raw materials purchased locally. All glazes are not suited for every purpose, and we pride ourselves on our thorough testing to ensure your safety during every use.

Our name was inspired by our dog Lucy, a Cane Corse mix affectionally known as “The Goose.” Check out the sections below to learn more about the hearts and hands that crafted your next favorite mug, bowl, or vase!

Eric

Our potter and glaze chemist, Eric learned to throw at the age of 12. He stepped away from the craft for over 10 years before returning to the wheel, never losing his passion to create. His shapes are almost always formed on the wheel with a bit of wabi-sabi that reminds us all that good things are built by hand. Eric loves trying new forms and surface techniques that will shine under his glazes.

When he’s not at the wheel or kiln, he enjoys spending time outside at the golf course or in the woods. He is passionate about all things ceramics and loves to share his knowledge with others.

You can reach him at eric@theglazygoose.com for questions, feedback, or to inquire about custom work.

    STUDIO SUPPORT

While she can’t claim much in the way of clay talent, Emily enthusiastically provides backstage support for The Glazy Goose. She has been there alongside Eric for every step of the journey as both his business partner and wife. When she isn’t immersed in her own endeavors or the business of pottery, she enjoys being in nature, DIY/crafting, and exploring art fairs and shops.

Feel free to reach out with any inquiries at emily@theglazygoose.com!

    THE GOOSE

The goodest of girls and shop dog, Lucy joined the family in 2020 as a rescue pup in search of her forever home. She adores her family and friends, and loves long walks with good smells, and annoying the cats (even though she totally wasn’t over there, she promises).
